Setup my raspberrypi with a hifime usb to optical SPDIF and installed the headless plex player and now I have a audio player that does 96k flac and is half the price of the Sonos Port which didnt

Due to inescapable mission creep, once again a simple task such as getting a cheap AES/EBU to SPDIF box has ballooned into hours of research on format converters and the purchase of a obsolete firewire MOTU interface to act as a standalone convert anything to anything else box.
It was inevitable. 🤔

I uploaded the highest quality of 4K upscale of The Bouncer's intro possible. The audio is SPDIF and the vid has no deinterlacing artifacts. I'm still disappointed by YouTube's inability to fully capture the detail in a PS2 FMV, but this is the closest we're getting for now.

I uploaded the highest quality of 4K upscale of The Bouncer's intro possible. The audio is SPDIF and the vid has no deinterlacing artifacts. I'm still disappointed by YouTube's inability to fully capture the detail in a PS2 FMV, but this is the closest we're getting for now.

or do what I do: Bandcamp and Apple Music both have lossless options; just get a little USB to optical (SPDIF) out and plug that into a good DAC
buy a really nice DAC and a CD player with optical output; it’ll sound incredible

And today’s shenanigans is that I can capture the highest quality digital output from a Voodoo together with SPDIF from my sound card through the RetroTink 4K😎

I have two very old, non-smart TV's and things like external /bleutooth speakers on the TV aren't attainable without some special kit
Now i have that special kit: HDMI to HDMI+AUDIO EXTRACTOR. It will use SPDIF or mini stereo

I finished up work on another video project to go alongside the Xbox VGA boards.
It's a simple YPbPr video and stereo+SPDIF audio adpater with a TI video amp, and the ability to turn the built in HD low pass filters off in that amp.
Similar to a newer XOSVP or better HDAV pack.

I plugged my raspberry pi into using my mouse charger and now my mouse is dead. so I'm going to plug my mouse into my spdif dongle that has power delivery

The best part is it's easy to adapt to any console that can output YPbPr video, SPDIF and/or analog audio and 3-5V
