Obviously, the biggest time saving has been just embracing 128K only from the beginning. Trying to get it to fit on a 48K speccy was a huge time sink on Quantum Hop 1.

Have you played Kentilla? That was one of my favourites on the Speccy - outside of the Magnetic Scrolls ones of course, which were the kings of text adventures in that time

Great post. You have to go to great lengths when storing m/c in a rem statement on a VIC-20. Fortunately, Nine Tiles spared us of that pain on the ZX81 and even gifted us SAVE/LOAD "" CODE on the speccy.

Both great picks! The Master System and Game Gear use SN76489-style sound with three squares plus noise, and the Spectrum 128's AY-3-8912 is also three squares plus noise, just with a different character. The Speccy scene is still huge, plenty to explore.
