also, there should be limiters built in to all engines. there’s no reason my spedometer should go up to 120 mph! cap it at 80.

maybe all x6x came from the factory with the centre mounted spedometer and the one built into the cab is a later modernization (they're all at least partly electronic so it wouldn't make sense for them to be like that from the mid 80s onwards i guess)

i wonder if the thing in place of the spedometer is a digital spedometer on the top and an italian safety system device is below it. it would make sense because for the czech locomotives, the LS90/MIREL signal repeater box & switches are external devices mounted into the cab panel

a weird thing: the cabs on the FNM E630s have been mirrored. normally it's on the right side. also note the old-timey spedometer mounted on the center pillar, which was common on older Škoda locomotives but not on 163s, which had a spedometer built into the cab desk
