This Speyburn is obviously young, quite malty and bready, but with a lovely smoky lemon barley water flavour. Very pleasant. The Murray Cask Strength from Tullibardine is apples, banana, vanilla and cinnamon. Very nice as well. #whisky

GTS is molasses, burnt caramel, cherry, toasted pecans, coffee & dark chocolate. The Speyburn is honeycomb, apples, vanilla, pear drops & lemon zest. The Longrow is briny, maritime, smoky peat, old leather armchairs in a cigar lounge, some dried fruit. Its the end of the Lagavulin! #bourbon #whisky

I knew it was coming, but first time I have seen the Speyburn 18 available at 40%. Seems to be around the same price as it was at 46% too. Good luck to them selling that!

The nose starts with ripe bananas for the English Vs raisins for the Speyburn. Then I get vanilla fudge spiked with orange zest from the Speyburn. Apricots and cream from the English.

This week’s auction purchase delivered for a good amount less than the new 43% version. Sadly owners Inver House/ThaiBev seem determined to send anCnoc and Speyburn in the wrong direction.
