So to anyone having trouble with alocasia's during winter, you are not alone, This one as well as some others has spidermites and does not love thee dry air inside the house as you can see with the dry leaf points. #alocasia #spidermites #dryair #tolittlelight

The biggest thing I learned is that changing the soil, washing the pot, and rinsing the plant before bringing inside for the winter is the best way to proactively fight back against things like spidermites. I just brought them straight in lol.

I ended up getting burned out (no pun intended) and just used a kitchen lighter to keep burning the spidermites away (nothing else worked for long, and my wife refused to let me release lady bugs inside the house lol)

This is my Kalanchoe beharensis (Elephant's Ear & Felt Bush). One of the weirdest #houseplants I have. It's been a #spidermites magnet, but I don't have the heart to get rid of her.

Spider mite damage on strawberry appears as stippling or bronzing of the leaves; leaves may turn yellow and drop prematurely. Webbing on underside of leaves is also a sign of infestation. Spidermites thrive in warm dry conditions. Early management is needed to prevent yield loss 🌱 🧪

My "sacrificial" gardenia is blooming! I say that because every single one I get tends to get spidermites, and those little bastards are hard to get rid of. But I'm going to enjoy this while I have it. 💚

bleh ill stream tomorrow. i just had to straight up euthanize like 6 of my plants because they were completely infested with spidermites and i didnt notice and im pretty bummed out about it. fucking FUCK spidermites dude FUCK
