Dems need to find a way to balance visible progress on big-ticket, splashy items, with a LOT of nuts-and-bolts governance reforms that aren't going to make sense to anyone outside the Beltway. They're not campaign material, but they are absolutely necessary.

Now the Dems need a plan with some quick, smart, splashy improvements to people’s lives ala Mamdani, alongside impeaching and investigating unpopular Administration officials who have broken the law, starting with Hegseth, Noem, Bovino, the DOGE boys, and working their way in.

This is my list and my thinking too. As many splashy, obvious, instantly-makes-life-better actions immediately, Mamdani-style. One at a time is also good practice, no defense that “I was voting against the other part of it.”
Here’s my proposal for the new Congress to start on. Pass these bills one at a time. If Trump is going to veto, let it be crystal clear what’s being vetoed. Be a relentlessly busy Congress. We built a big damn tent, let’s start with easy wins.
