While doing a charity walk to stop breast cancer, or perhaps another, worse one, I saw a deer with a broken leg and stopped to help, splinting the wound and donating $1000 to a charity for environment. Hours later I was punched very hard by someone. This is the only statement I will be making.

So I met with my ENT specialist today! So I've been booked for nasal surgery. They'll be doing a septoplaty, a bilateral inferior turbinoplasties, bilateral pyriformoplasties and nasal septal splinting. The wait times are 12-15 months but I'm on the waitlist for a sooner date.

26 days and there has definitely been significant strain taken off my damaged tendon, cuz i used my right handed mouse one day for meccha chameleon and it was swollen like a balloon after splinting it at night!

i decided to try changing to a left handed vertical mouse and: they made them way smaller no wonder my right hand hurts and : holy shit i dont know how to navigate a house with my left hand this will take a bit. im trying to save drawing hand strain moving forward..

Good learning anecdote from last night: pt with COPD and acute abdominal pain was incompletely compensating for her metabolic acidosis. I gave her pain meds and her pCO2 actually lowered/pH improved— don’t undertreat pain for fear of worsening ventilatory drive. Splinting is frequently worse.

Good learning anecdote from last night: pt with COPD and acute abdominal pain was incompletely compensating for her metabolic acidosis. I gave her pain meds and her pCO2 actually lowered/pH improved— don’t undertreat pain for fear of worsening ventilatory drive. Splinting is frequently worse.

So my surgery to help me breathe better is coming up soon! I'm finally at the top of the waitlist after waiting over a year for this urgent major surgery! There's a nurse strike so they told me I could be having my surgery on Dec 10th or at the latest end of January.

*I thought we had this baby in as a she, but I checked again and baby is a he. He is mobile, and acting like a perfectly healthy kitten. The vets are keeping an eye on him, but apparently due to the specifics of his injuries splinting/casting is actually contraindicated at this time.

Yeah, he looked at the post-reduction splinted X-rays and went "this is probably good enough but I'm still not 100% happy with it" and the guy they tapped in was HILARIOUS. Hated technology, hated all the newfangled materials for splinting, delivered an excellent lecture on the best position--

Treatment includes rest, splinting and splinting of the hand. NSAIDs and gabapentin will not alleviate the pain. Only a glucocorticoid shot would. I have an exam in one day Yama please save me

Said it before, will say it again: splinting my hypermobile fingers has been the best thing for them and if you are wondering if ring splints might help, they probably will.
Like things like canes and wheelchairs, these aren’t the sorts of devices people covet idly.
They can be 3D printed!
