I trudged with my fruit plant over my shoulder, and no sooner had I come to accept that there were huge piles of shit made by some mysterious megafauna all around me than I started to see dead and decomposing bodies of what appeared to be giant frogs being picked apart by longlegged scavenger birds who stood with their legs in the water and ate the entrails of the dead frogs that looked like they probably weighed a good ten pounds apiece and were 18 inches long, thick and mottled dark green. I tried not to stare and reminded myself that my job was to pass through and get to the store with the fruit so that I could acquire supplies for the next part of my journey. So when I next saw what I can only describe as humanoid frog children, who stood upright and walked on two legs and had flat bellies and loins with no genitals, navels or nipples but vaguely human heads and disturbingly intelligent eyes, who danced around large piles of feces and decomposing dead bodies flicking their tongues into the clouds of flies around them, I decided that I should just keep moving and focus on the road ahead.
