spredges is quite possibly the worst thing i've ever read what the absolute heck
Also: sprayed edges are an annoying fad. They mostly look cheap and won't stay in good condition long-term. I've really only seen a few books where I thought, "Wow, that's really improved by the sprayed edges." Mostly I wish my books were just left clean.

It's almost like intentionally fudging the lines between YA and adult books to chase adult readers wound up chasing actual teens out of YA while adult readers MOSTLY BOUGHT ADULT BOOKS. No amount of endpapers, foiling, spredges, etc is gonna change that dynamic.
