On the limestone scree, as with the outcrops and pavement above, we often see Squamarina cartilaginea

Cache Creek delivers! These tiny 1cm white rosettes in full sun on calcium infused basalt looked like Squamarina or Rhizoplaca miniatures but keyed out as an elusive in BC Canada, Lecanora neodegelii (was Squamarina degelii)...I think

Cumbria Lichen and Bryophyte Group trip to Little Asby. Loved the Callome multipartita; enjoyed the lichen specimen table; saw lots of Squamarina cartilaginea. Star of the show (as ever) was Solorina saccata. Maybe one day I'll feel confident with this limestone stuff...

At The Clouds limestone, SE Cumbria, with @britishlichensociety.org.uk. Boulders, quarry, some intact pavement and lots of rubble where water-sculpted limestone removed. #Lichen got better higher up. Some spp not found eg Squamarina cartilaginea. Species names in alt text.

If we are being very very optimistic, then yes! Squamarina lentigera might be an easier target?
