ok but what if you integrated a k8s service mesh with HW switches by embedding metadata in packets so that healthchecks, feature flags, next hop, failover, etc could be bidirectionally signaled in hardware and software

MPIの世界でMRC + SRv6的なことをやっている。違いはスイッチ側でもEV bitの設定が可能。分散と順序制御を制御できるようにしている。
