btw I discovered there that his voice was replaced in SRWDD as well. I get why relying on older, less unique recordings for characters can only go so far. Not really big on replacing performances.

I kind of see SRWDD as the sort of "minor league" for a handful of series they feature in the mobile game and may want to move up to the console games in the future. It would not surprise me if the next game featured at minimum:
