Sega could just retcon it as there being a jetpack somewhere in the cockpit for escape, it's a flying mech so it's not that farfetched.
Plus, StH2005 shown that the island was still surprisingly intact meaning the explosion in SA2 should probably be interpreted as being exaggerated next to canon.

My overall opinion on Shadow Gens story is that I wish they were more but the things we did get is immaculate I enjoy it a lot. It was made for people who didn't play SA2 or STH2005 but it's a nice bow for people already invested in Shadow's character.

I'm not the biggest fan of vanilla Shadow Generations, so I've installed mods to make it less like a Boost game and more like a Shadow game. I've already beaten the game before, so why not? Only thing truly missing is the guns.

just hoping we get more sonadow dlc than just the movie promo. an sth2005 level would be supurr cool. & yknow, im kinda glad they ruled out westopolis with the tokyo remix, furst levels are so boring and im so glad they strayed away from that fur the most purrt (rh is an exception.. my beloved)
