Tuesday - day two. Visited two more schools & spoke to another 80 kids on the @StorylinesNZ Central Plateau tour, today.

Favourite question: How much money have you got? 🤑

Day one of the @StorylinesNZ Central Plateau Story Tour, with a fabulous bunch of writers & researchers. I visited primary, intermediate & secondary schools in Taupō & spoke to nearly 300 kids.

Question of the day: Is a peacock really a bird? 🦚😊

Also topping my list is Reach by Hugh Brown. The inaugural @StorylinesNZ Tessa Duder Award winner.
I love the memory of how that award came to be. It was a great car chat with @NZBookgirl.
And Tessa's reaction when I suggested it at a meeting 🥰

I have a few of her books (these are just the picture books!) Most are withdrawn library copies (keeping the tradition.
My involvement with @StorylinesNZ meant I was able to spend time with her.
I could give her a chainmail bracelet I'd made for her 70th birthday.

I'm so proud of this award!
One that came out of my head.
A fav memory is of Tessa's face when I suggested it at a @StorylinesNZ meeting. And she happened to be sitting beside me at the time.
Fav bit of 'any other business' anytime...
