It makes its dark mark in the Ogham alphabet. In the Ogham Blackthorn's name is Straif & it is from this Celtic word that we get the word strife

It is deeply funny that US starts a war nobody wanted and ended up 1) giving Iran control of Straif of Hormuz, 2) severely damaging regional ties, 3) establishing China as an important diplomatic power. So much winning.

“The Knight Straif” takes a little more explaining as there’s a few layers to it. “Straif” [ᚎ] is a letter in the old Irish alphabet, and when used in divinations (like ogham sticks), ᚎ can be about transformations; about taking omens, of secrets, and the mutability of circumstances.

Straif is also associated with blackthorn, and that’s where the real connection comes. Blackthorn can represent “overcoming obstacles for a better future” and “hope in the midst of devastation.” It is associated with shadow work, secrets, and war and death—while also used as a symbol of protection.

so rather than simplify tax, it's gonna get yet more complicated with a bunch of additional carve-outs for age groups they think either turnout to vote or sympathise with reform. (espsly old people in both cases).
