The MPs here have now considered femicide, the killing of women simply because they are women, as a separate crime. Also, it has been passed as a law with life imprisonment. The special thing is that this bill was approved on the day (25 November), which is dedicated to ending violence against women across the world. Last year, 116 women were killed in Italy, out of which, in 106 cases, the reason was their gender.
