Regular community conferences also allow reflection of progress since the last meeting.

As it happens, at PADiBa2024 we brainstormed a project together with @lauraragni.bsky.social, which got funded and officially started just now!

New review from HYDROSENSING in "Current Opinion in Plant Biology"

The paper maps how ABA and its precursor move between plant tissues, and why the destination decides the response: closing stomata, sealing roots, setting seeds.

Check out this amazing paper digging the molecular structure of the plant polymer suberin!

Suberin is key during host-microbe interactions, so it is quite important for phytopathologists!

A good analogy is #cork.

Millions of closed cells, bound together by suberin. Press on it, and it won't flow like water. It compresses, absorbs the impact, redistributes the pressure, and quietly returns to its original shape.

Some organizations behave exactly the same way. #CorporateCulture

Very happy to see that SUBER GENE1 (SBG1; At1g52565) is now annotated in TAIR and Aramemnon!

We identified this gene through a GWAS on natural variation in endodermal suberin and had the privilege of naming it.
