Like, Sugarplummed was brilliant in that it starred a mom, a daughter, and a mystical Christmas being. All the ages! For all the actors!

#Sugarplummed was a lot of fun! I loved that it’s a Hallmark movie that’s all about mocking other Hallmark movies. 😂

Tonight’s Hallmark movie, Sugarplummed, is basically Enchanted but Hallmark movies instead of a fairytale, so it’s amazing

Yesterday’s Hallmark movie (#Sugarplummed) will likely end up the best of the season. But tonight’s (#LeahsPerfectGift) is a strong contender for the worst.

Anyway, here's me with my fingers crossed that we get at least a couple movies from Hallmark as fresh, fun and charming as ROUND AND ROUND, THE SANTA CLASS, SUGARPLUMMED, HANUKKAH ON RYE, GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS ALWAYS, AN UNEXPECTED CHRISTMAS or THE CHRISTMAS HOUSE
Hallmark's been on good run of late

Hallmark has tried to do the “parody a Hallmark movie, but also be a Hallmark movie” a bunch of times, almost universally unsuccessfully, but SUGARPLUMMED finally breaks that streak. Fresh and funny with some killer lines, yet still touching. Loved it! My favorite of the year so far.

#Sugarplummed is basically just #Hallmark making fun of itself while also sticking it to people who claim their movies are never original. It’s kinda brilliant? Very meta. Very layered. And it has Maggie Lawson and Janel Parrish. Having a lot of fun with this one.

On Saturday, SUGARPLUMMED had 1.763M live viewers, putting it in Hallmark's Top 10 for the year so far, and finishing ahead of all but sports on cable.

Christmas With the Singhs
Bebe Winans’ We Three Kings
Our Little Secret
Hot Frosty
A Dance in the Snow

A few more days removed, and SUGARPLUMMED has slipped to third for IMDb reviewers, but remains tops in the Letterboxd averages.
And I will forever remain personally baffled by the level of enthusiasm A REASON FOR THE SEASON has received from reviewers on both sites.

Can only really fully recommend the top 3 above, since there honestly are no Hallmark movies I've truly loved so far this season. But I think I said the same thing last year at this time, then December brought THE SANTA CLASS and SUGARPLUMMED, so there's still hope.
