He might be the only person to have done a Sunbow cartoon and been on a UK Number 1 as well? Did Always Look on the Bright Side of Life manage it?

That was a really good read, though I'm not above being a pedant and pointing out that although Friedman is credited as the writer, that's only a contractual requirement. His final draft was dictated by a scene breakdown from Sunbow and then heavily revised by "story consultant" Flint Dille.

Jem was amazing. And yes, she was singing for foster girls.

Funny coincidence, we talk about the demographic, and how Hasbro shifted it between the Sunbow and DiC cartoon series in a video released today where, in a crossover, we take a look at the worst GI Joe cartoon episode of all time.

More updates from FansToys with their FT-40A Hannibal which is based on Cerebros from the TRANSFORMERS Rebirth season 4 episodes.
Interesting that FansToys decided to give us both the Sunbow and Toei designs. Best of both worlds in my book!

People talk a big game about how DuckTales was this transcendent show that rose cartoons from the sewer, but 1987 was the year that DiC fully embraced the slop by sending animation to the cheapest studios imaginable while also essentially bribing Hasbro to drop Sunbow (who used Toei, TMS, and AKOM).

Wouldn’t Bayverse also be a Skyfire then? Trapped in stasis on Earth for many years, was a Decepticon before switching sides to the Autobots? That’s all Sunbow Skyfire

My reasoning is that Skyfire is the name of the Sunbow character who is a scientist and was former friends with Starscream.
Jetfire is the name of the Marvel G1 drone created by Shockwave and was given sentience by the Matrix of Creation.
You could have both Jetfire and Skyfire at the same time.

So generally any version of the character that follows the Sunbow version is a Skyfire (IDW, Skybound, Dreamwave), and any that fall into an other category are Jetfire's (TFA, Bayverse, Cyberverse)
This seems sound logic to me, but even so I still had some guy give me 'the look' after I said this

I think also I'm very influenced by this one fic where Skyfire visits his curmudgeonly grandpa (who is Bayverse Jetfire). So my most prevailing headcanon for the Bayverse version is that he is here, but he's a relative of the Sunbow version haha.

You know what, that is fair logic. I feel my reasoning behind it was that while the backstory is there, personality-wise he doesn't feel at all like Sunbow Sky (or look anything like him, but then many of the Bay cast have that).

Also, Cox from the Boddicker Gang looks weirdly like Stalker from GI JOE, but also, Sunbow, so maybe NOT so weird?

Activision released a Transformers game for the C64 in 1986, but I wouldn’t paint anything Transformers prior to “The Headmasters” (the first series made specifically for Japan and not contracted by Marvel/Sunbow) as “anime”.

It was that, a couple of Sunbow tapes, and one(!) episode of Droids that I got via promotional packs of Dairylea cheese. It was about a hunt for Rune Stones.
