It's a long story, but yes, really. His first enemy he had to kill, were human assassins, and he had to kill them with his officer swords.
Some would say things got progressively worse for a good long while before they turned around. Though many would also say that meeting Sundale was the start.

Oddly enough, I think Sundale might actually connect with Fox. I think the interest in puzzles might touch on Sundale's ability and enjoyment of tackling mechanical issues. And I can't say why, but something about the lack of being social might be a door too.
