reeling in the sun #sunyposting #gposers

(found out from a friend that the gpose animation loop works on casting and reeling for fishing and immediately had to do things with that)
sunyaev saalehn, a purple au ra, dressed in fishing gear, reeling in their fishing line, which is positioned to look like it's reeling in the sun itself, rising over the ocean. grass in the foreground and a still slightly starry and slightly cloudy sky above them.

then I heard your heart beating,
you were in the darkness too
so I stayed in the darkness with you

FFXIV GPOSE. Fray is holding Sunyaev, a Xaela Au Ra in gold and blue armor with a dark knight sword on their back, with one of Fray's hands on their shoulder and one on the back of their neck. Sunyaev's face is pressed into Fray's shoulder. They are lit by a distinct pattern of sunlight from a window out of frame that serves as a background to the entire image, with Fray standing in the shadows between panes and the light falling only on Sunyaev and the floor.

sunyaev & sid have thought each other were dead for like 15 years, but in the sense “the timeline of final fantasy is a mess and made me want to cry when i tried to apply it to sunyaev so i picked a number to represent “a significant fraction of theirs lives”” metaphorically. #sunyposting

in the last place they ever wanted to return to, sunyaev discovers they aren't as alone as they thought they were.

my first gpose comic. takes place during the lvl 50 drk quest "the wages of mercy." cw: dehumanizing language in flashback

(1/3)
Two dark knight au ra standing in Whitebrim with a backdrop of the snowy ground and a barren tree. Sunyaev is seen from the back, leaning back as though startled. Sidurgu is facing the camera has his arms folded and is saying his canon line "...I pray you do not make a habit of following men plotting to kill you into secluded areas." The text box is of standard FFXIV style and has the label ??? in the speaker's name area. Side shot of Sunyaev with a background of the starry sky above whitebrim. Because of their helmet, only their mouth is visible, with a shocked expression. Four thought textboxes run down the starry area, saying 1) "That's--" in italics, left aligned 2) "That can't be--" in italics, can't bolded, right aligned 3i) "--there was n o t h i n g left but ash," in italics, spaced out nothing and ash in bold 3ii) The third thought box is surrounded by four black thought textboxes at angles - snippets of memory from the brutal flashback they are having. The two on top are in white text and say "Sunyaev, run--" with run in slightly larger text, and "Don't come out 'til I come for you--" The bottom two are in red text and say "Death to dragons and their consorts--" and "Don't let it get away--" 4) "...but..." Same as previous shot but a slightly closer zoom on Sunyaev's face. Single text box in the starry area, saying "...S-Sid? Sidurgu?" The full Sid in the stuttered version is italicized." Half body shot of Sid, who has placed his hand on the handle of his sword. His face is suspicious. Textbox, now with the label Sidurgu, says "...how do you know my name? Did Fray--"

related to this, nightmares about snow and ashes. they don’t always remember these when they wake up but they always know when they happened regardless because of the particular emotional state they’re in when they wake up.

also this makes the end of shb (zel does what ardbert does, with him, to save sunyaev) Worse! like, better, for overarching themes and story, but you know, Worse.

(dovi makes her own sacrifice play in ultima thule w the rest of the scions, but permanent bc she was already dead)

everyone learns so much previously unknown sunyaev backstory just by hanging around these chattermouth ghosts. rest in pieces sunyaev when you finally get yoinked. for multiple reasons.
