At just over 4km up steam, the dead fall and shallows makes the river not very navigable.

It is time to turn back and head for the lake.

The paddle started at the Rotary Park near the mouth of the creek and the goal is to try and make it about 5k up the creek to Bayly Street.

The river does not like my 10inch fin... It's getting rocky and shallow.. The lack or rain this summer has certainly had an effect on the water levels.

A sunken picking table. Rather impressive feat considering that there is not obviously easy way to haul it into this area

Within 1.5km from the start, the river begins to bottom out...
It's shallow and rocky in places.

Still very wild. Little in terms of human impact to be seen. Impressive to a stream in the GTA.

It is more wild than most GTA streams, as it meanders freely in the lower reaches on its way to the lake.

Around the lower section of the creek there are several marshes and ponds.. All currently too shallow to paddle... I have a 10inch fin on the board and in most places I basically was stuck in the mud.

Finally about 500meters north of the mouth, I've reached the point where I can no longer viably paddle up the creek.

I've gone further in the past. But its much shallower now, with the fin dragging constantly.
