First off we have a neat Legend of Legaia interview from 1998, covering the story/world design, the "fighting game" battle system, and the music. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only developer interview available for Legaia. shmuplations.com/legaia/

Is it possible to have 'sustainable AI'? If it was, it would be fundamentally unrecognisable compared to the system design being deployed by big tech today, which has inefficiency, waste, bloat and excess built in from the ground up.

Was very nice to speak to Green Left Weekly for this interview

The system design interview:

Design Netflix to scale to 500M users.

The job:

Design a logging solution for the system that complies with all the myriad of privacy laws that apply around the world whilst still keeping the logs useful.

Life isn’t like the movies.
Jobs aren’t like the interviews.

Which further supports my push for devs to know system design outside of passing your job interview.
Infrastructure as code is complex because infrastructure is complex. You have two choices: automation or abstraction.

I gave my friend a mock system design interview a few weeks ago. She got the job making significantly more money than me. Here's what she told me.

"The system design question you asked me is basically my job now."

You love to see it!

Meta was finding that lots of fantastic dev tools engineers would not necessarily be the best at "designing YouTube", so a separate interview path was created for them. the system design question for them was, for example, "design a source control copy tracking system that works at scale"
