#systematics
My Systematics class was a bit different, splitting its time between the theologies of Barth and Rahner, but that book was the essential supplement for historical systematics.

I feel I was served well, in that I was provided that framework necessary for systematics and constructive theology.

Will Fermi LAT finally allow us to use the faintest galaxies to test whether the Galactic centre excess is a signature of dark matter? Only if we understand the systematics. Tune in on starxiv.com to learn more! 🧪🔭☄️
Michelle's second paper focused on the search for annhilating dark matter and the systematics that may affect this signal (if there) when using the Fermi Large Area Telescope to hunt for dark matter in dwarf galaxies. A crucial read for lovers of all things dark matter arxiv.org/abs/2609.20944 🔭 ☄️

Taxonomy and Systematics – Classification of Life
1. Introduction to Taxonomy and Systematics The living world consists of an enormous diversity of organisms that differ in their structure, morphology, physiology, behaviour, genetic composition and evolutionary history. To study this diversity scientifically, biologists require organised methods for identifying, naming, describing and classifying organisms. Taxonomy and Systematics are two closely related branches of biological science that provide the foundation for understanding and organising biodiversity.

Biologist here, with specific training in systematics and taxonomy (ie classification and species definitions). Short answer: There is deliberately NOT a single succinct definition of “species” because every attempt we’ve made to formulate one fails in some context. (More to come)
