Like, cmon, it's not hard to realize that szarr palace was very rushed in the game and that Cazador would not use Ballroom or his studio for everything. A "palace" with a total of 3 bedrooms (just 1 for guests). But even that they were nitpicking, I'm even sorry for Roney to have to answer about it.

But something I try to cover in my explainer is that a large part of the furor stems from just how AMAZING the szarr palace is as a game stage, and how it encouraged us to 'Fill in the blanks" of the horrors - great design! But people forgot which blanks THEY/WE filled in, with fanon!!

I think it would be fun to find a way to pull off ending it immediately before entering Szarr palace. The next fic will pick up somewhere around six months after they defeat the Netherbrain with little callbacks to the story here and there to tie everything together.

In my canon, Cazador cut it off right before turning him and kept it. When Astarion begins the work of clearing out Szarr palace after his ascension, a servant finds it among Cazador's remaining personal effects in an oakwood box wedged under his feather mattress.

I think this actual irony of this is that there's honestly more textual evidence in the book that Cazador has a strong preference for Astarion seducing victims, and its a passage you keep throwing around as evidence of the opposite.

I've not read the book yet, but Godey and the 'kennels' in the Szarr Palace in-game is also a good demonstration that Cazador did not solely use mind control on his spawn

This is also newly depicted as the spawn being aware of Cazador working with Mephistopholes, though for what they don't know, instead of having no idea about any of this until the ritual begins under Szarr palace. So much is retconned here for no reason that it makes one wonder of the author did -
