Before Spanish colonialism, the naming conventions would depend on each region- example would be- for the tagalogs, parents would change their names, and name themselves after their firstborn children. Sinaya would be the child's name, and her father would become "Amansinaya" (Sinaya's Father)

I love Samoas! They're my absolutely fav but I also enjoy thin mints and tagalogs quite a bit. Gonna have to hunt down some local girl scouts this week and get some!

So I'm in line for Chinese food and the local Girl Scouts are hounding us to sell cookies.
I just watched them sell a box of Tagalogs to a lady for $6.50 and then sell the last box to the lady in front of her for $5 and the first lady is trying so hard not to be mad about it.

Us non-tagalogs, and especially the south feel incredibly disenfranchised, neglected, and othered. We feel like the north is all too too busy admiring itself with scant a thought for us and our suffering.

Barong Tagalogs go so hard. I wish I could wear them more often but I know my inlaws will start making Trudeau jokes if I'm the only person wearing one too often.
