Had friends over for dinner and fireworks last night. One dear friend brought me a lovely new bottle of scotch - Tamdhu! This is a lovely single malt from Speyside. It has lovely fruity and citrus notes. Yum!❤️😋🍽️🍜🥃

I prfer the Glencadam, the Tamdhu is too sherry for me. I bought it as an alternative to Macallan but it's not that. In contrast the Glencadam is light and floral with some lovely sour notes alongside the sweet. Apart from Glendronach anyone got any decent Macallan alternatives?

testing Macca alternatives as recommended by YouTube tonight. TL;DR lovely drams but they ain't Macallan. Tamdhu probably the closest but I'd take the Glendronach over all of them. No @distilling-wisdom.com s were harmed during this process & I was grateful for his palate. #whisky
