I use foil or Tamiya masking tape, cut to size.

If I ever get this 3D-printed kit finished (the new ‘for 3D prints’ CA arrived today) I am going for an old Tamiya classic with lots of extras next…I will deploy the Quinta 3D decal that I have had for about four years, albeit with a guilty conscience, but I haven’t bought anything Russian since…🤷♂️🙄🥃

There are more modern kits out there (Border, Dragon) that have more details etc. Probably not as fun as the Tamiya though.

Milliput is very difficult to use for fine detail, it struggles to hold onto the surface. The fabric looks okay, given the material.
I prefer Tamiya QuickType for this.
