After struggling to find Northern Bald Ibis at Tamri, got ridiculously lucky at Tifnit. Parked, walked up a berm and one was in a gull roost, 30m away. It then started hunting, and I managed to video it catching two lizards as it came closer. Camera not connecting so have an ibis selfie #birding

Found this frustrating tringa feeding actively in crap light at Oued Tamri. Probably just a juv redshank but the legs were proper yellow and I just couldn't rule lesser yellowlegs out. Annoying. #birding Also no Bald Ibis due to roadworks and post breeding dispersal. Annoying

Just had a probable Plain Swift over the golf course at Taghazout Bay with the evening assemblage of Pallid Swifts. Breeds on the coast near Tamri apparently. Just flew totally differently to the two Pallids it was with and notably smaller. Lighter, flickier wing beats but light going.

Just had a probable Plain Swift over the golf course at Taghazout Bay with the evening assemblage of Pallid Swifts. Breeds on the coast near Tamri apparently. Just flew totally differently to the two Pallids it was with and notably smaller. Lighter, flickier wing beats but light going.
Travelled up the coast to Tamri with @naturetrek.bsky.social on Morocco winter sun. Flock of 74 Bald Ibis foraging on the short turf & a few birds at the nest site. Audouin's Gulls are plentiful on this stretch, a migration north included Whimbrel. Gannets & Gt Skua. Yellow Cistanche in full flower

A poster on FB recently said he had gotten hold of a cache of 500 images and videos of Taiwan from the 1950s, from Donald J. Pletsch. He worked in Chaozhou at Taiwan Provincial Malaria Research Institute/TAMRI on anti-malaria drives. This image is a Hengchun city gate, 1952.
