I just saw this on Facebook, she is a design student from Denmark named Tesnim Sayar. There is a scene called Taqwacore which is a fusion of the word "taqwa", meaning "God conscious" in Arabic and hard-core punk. Thought I'd spread the badassery because she looks cool as fuck

Müsste ich schauen. Gab 2009 ne Doku zu Taqwacore, so heißt das Ding, aber das bezog sich eher auf Pakistan. Ich schaue zu viel Dokus :D Das letzte war eher Indonesien. Mal suchen gehen. Zuviele Dokus :D

I believe in God, was raised Catholic but dabble in different religions, and recently discovered Michael Muhammad Knight, a white guy who writes about punk Islam. He wrote a book called 'The Taqwacores' which sort of birthed a punk-Muslim music scene. Fascinating to me.
