I teach band this year, and the band program is huge (beginners has 67 in it). I started using a headset mic for rehearsals and, now, also in class. Do any of you use one? Yes or no? What are your thoughts?

Me: That ain't no slide. What you got there is a trombone stick.

I put this game together recently and tried it with Grade 9's. They were engaged, AND they loved the Easter eggs. Never too old for fun! Great for a sub plan, a warm up activity, or as part of a wider project.

I love teaching band this year. But I enjoy it even more and feel more fulfilled as a teacher when I'm challenging kids with learning by ear, improvisation, and other creative pursuits.
