telemetry tags are so small now, holy smokes

Fun Fact; went to the one like three weeks ago, and that telemetry was still coming in.

Quickly finished up Fugitive Telemetry this week. Murderbot as a detective works really well.

I like to believe I've played my part in making production telemetry accessible to him and to future generations of SREs with disabilities.

Feels impossible to accurately gauge Linux usage because of the fact Linux has little telemetry and the telemetry it does have you choose to have.

asked one of the employees hanging out to answer questions something along the lines of “so those windows are incoming live telemetry from Voyager 1 & 2?” And he said “yeah how cool is that?”

The coolest. Just the absolute coolest possible.

The structure of this roof cap is exactly like the kind of telemetry tracker that NASA uses to identify dead pulsars in deep space.

Organ transplant life support devices are also full of telemetry and network connectivity for reasons of needing to monitor fluid pressures, viability characteristics, temperature, etc in a way that helps plan getting the organ into someone who's life needs saving at the right place and time.
Ran out of characters, but they’re also used for storing blood! They have to be monitored over a network because any failures need to be detected immediately, regardless of where the relevant people are physically located at the moment!

Monitors reported Kh-101s entering Dnipropetrovsk Oblast from the southeast toward Kryvyi Rih on 3 November 2026, around 04:05 UTC. The map shows a reported track, not independently verified missile telemetry.

Saving money by getting rid of maintenance managers in the stores who used to keep a constant eye on things. Now they use telemetry.

i love sending my telemetry data off to big tech so i can be assigned algorithmically appropriate content. it makes me feel like i just covered myself in a warm blanket, fresh out of the dryer.

Amazing telemetry, if real.

my home network’s pihole do block the service that bsky uses for both telemetry and feature gating so this could be the culprit
November 1, 2026 at 5:59 PM
but that’s fine because we don’t need to “fully understand” a system if we have the necessary telemetry and observability to understand system state and behavior post-facto

A live AI pit crew for iRacing with five agents and one rule: every number spoken on the radio gets checked against telemetry first. kruslim reports 4 of 27 checks failed in the last run and says it has never faced a full live field.

Tired of juggling two tabs, I built MastoSky: a local-first client that merges Bluesky and Mastodon into one timeline. Read, reply, boost and cross-post from a single page.

Python stdlib + vanilla JS, no dependencies, no telemetry. MIT.

Charles was never making that corner braking that late. Bet the telemetry tells that story.

i also don't like the thing ellipsus was pushing a while back about 'prove you're human with our record of your typing history!' like i really really hate that. i don't want authenticity to come down to yet another form of telemetry

CrossDriver Files is a free almost duplicate of Windows 11 File Explorer for switchers, uploads no telemetry, is sandboxed, has no ads, requires no account, and has no in-app purchases.
Know somebody switching from Windows? Show them this file manager
A big complaint that I've gotten from switchers to Mac from Windows is that there is no real File Explorer out of the box, like there is on Windows. CrossDriver Files is free, uploads no telemetry, is sandboxed, has no ads, requires no account, and has no in-app purchases. It works pretty well, and it's worth a try for those folks who are struggling a bit!

Add a firewalled read-only endpoint to collect telemetry? Ok. Let random internet connection push firmware updates? Uh, no.
November 2, 2026 at 7:26 PM
And then some bug happens and telemetry collects something from that device to diagnose it and oops that address isn't accessible here's a crash
