I love comics, soaps, and wrestling. But I think the comics industry takes too much from American soaps when they need to take from telenovelas. A telenovela will end and all the beloved actors will plop right down in a new one. Familiarity and newness at the same time.

Same pitch, revised MS! I queried too early. So if you've seen this before, agents, why not take another look? She's sweet, spooky, and telenovela style dramatic.

i don’t feel sympathy for lauren but i do feel the same disbelief that she does about all of this. she thought she was playing big brother with this guy but was too naive to understand that she’s just a side character in the vorgan telenovela #bb27

Every day y'all find out everyone doesn't like the same stuff you do and y'all dramatically fall on a chaise like a telenovela. Pls give it a break.

It’s like you’re all part of the same telenovela. How is this our actual government?

I've been watching clips from Metastasis, the telenovela version of Breaking Bad and it's honestly kinda fascinating.
Like...it's the same scripts, but the amateur directing, acting and other elements really displays how much everything is important when it comes to visual storytelling.

It's interesting to think about what comics would look like with a telenovela structure instead of a soap structure. Telenovelas would end, and then they'd basically get the same creative team (writers, actors, etc.) to tell a whole new story.

I love how my wife and I have the same but such drastically opposing reactions to when a Klingon episode comes up on TNG.
Her: Oh god it's a Klingon episode. It's like a telenovela with honour on top.
Me: Oh my god it's a Klingon episode! It's like a telenovela with honour on top!!

I'd liken it more to a soap opera than to ballet. A very large part of the appeal is the melodramatic storytelling. Watching a character struggle, and work to overcome challenges which are often ridiculous and over-the-top, has the same kind of appeal that soap opera, or telenovela does.

The telenovela bit?? Chefs kiss
You both fucked Lestat??
God this entire scene is EVERYTHING TO ME.
Also Armand’s line about Lestat tasting of vermouth and annihilation. I haven’t been able to see vermouth the same way since.

In Vol.1 of #LegendsOfAzdiera🌈🐉 there are 4 protagonists, each for different reasons, but they're all connected to each other like characters in a telenovela. What if a bunch of fairytales, myths&legends happened at the same time?

I haven't keep y'all up to date on events, but what led up to this was Eddie (dark hair & biological father) while having a gf, found a doppelganger of dead wife (played by same actress), tells her, she shows up with wife's haircut & says to get his closure, & then his kid walks in. telenovela shit

There has absolutely never been a wrestling show that told stories anywhere near the same level as Lucha Underground not to mention the salacious combination of grindhouse and telenovela aesthetics. It was truly something to behold. Shame it was run by dirtbags. :/

I think either Charlie got mad at him and that’s why the Charlie duck is there OR he’s in one of his depressive episodes again. I bet he’s watching the same telenovela as Stolas.😂😂

"I'm riding high off experiencing Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn fighting with a bunch of prosthetics glued on while being draped in nineties fashions, glittering with sapphic telenovela energy. I don't know if I'm the same woman I was before I watched this film."

I really thought I had seen it all with Carol. You live in a world where But I'm a Cheerleader and Brokeback Mountain exist, you think that you're on some meaningful journey with queer cinema and then...

I think it'a a suspension of disbelief thing.
They get so wrapped up in the telenovela episodes that they forget how it started because event after event keeps them off-balance.
It's basically the same way hypnosis operates. People get so emotionally invested they forget it's about money/power.

The differences in vultures even in the same habitat is super cool. They've got such comically overstated personalities. Turkey vultures practically pantomime their shyness, and black vultures bluff aggression hard. It's like a bird telenovela and I love them.
