#teleosauroids
Give it up for #Croctober Day 5
While most frequently associated with coastal marine waters, teleosauroids thalattosuchians are also known to have lived in freshwater habitats.
A good example is Indosinosuchus from the Late Jurassic Phu Kradung Formation of Thailand

Had a random evening of thinking about teleosauroids - as one does - so here's some #paleoart of one, Macrospondylus bollensis, from 2021. This was another excuse for me to draw waves, which is always fun. Remember to go "SPOOOSHHH!" when you draw them, otherwise they don't look right. #sciart

I'm happy that our paper on Macrospondylus was published today. This is the first of a series of papers on tetrapods from Holzmaden in which I was involved. A very important paper will in fact be published tomorrow, so stay tuned 🙂!

FASCINATING!

"Approximately half of the #teleosauroids in our sample (20 out of 41) show osteological & positional indicators characteristic of this landing posture."

The study of how organisms grow is a fundamental aspect of palaeontology. Growth in teleosauroids is poorly understood and little studied, especially in an ontogenetic sense. We investigate growth ra....
