Have they recreated this from telesnaps? #totp

Just do it in animation or telesnaps straight away.

May have just stumbled onto something extremely rare and significant.

Typing Coronation Street 1960 into Shutterstock, they have telesnaps via ITV of what is called Episode 1 of Coronation Street which looks to be the first dry run/pilot episode.

This is incredible to see!

Steals off air recordings and telesnaps then manipulates actors with AI:

This is classic #DoctorWho fandom. Not only spotting a prop from 60 years ago but one that's only visible in telesnaps and on set pictures. I love it.
I was already in love with Project Hail Mary and then a prop from Power of the Daleks turned up. 👌🏻

Optimist: The cup is half full
Pessimist: The cup is half empty
Doctor Who historian: After studying the BBC archives and interviewing the surviving crew, I've proved the cup was present on set during the filming of Marco Polo, even if it's not featured in telesnaps.

I tirelessly take black and white photographs of four hour YouTube videos, and turn them into telesnaps.

Have been explaining to @nkdgardener.bsky.social about telesnaps, I think he enjoyed it.

Telesnaps are “graphic content” apparently

I enjoyed the shots that were framed like the telesnaps. Onto ep 2.

I love how sometimes the telesnaps were so blurred that we saw things that weren’t there.

“a strange mist-like substance emanating from the Professor's mouth”

Yeah, that’s just a Yeti in the background.

Utterly brilliant bit of detective work. Fascinating look at the how the sets were planned and arranged based on some publicity shots and telesnaps. Bravo 👏

I do like the implication that Doctor Who remembers his old adventures in multi-camera 625 line studio interior VT. I wonder if his memories of the outside stuff are on film. Or if he's only got telesnaps and a soundtrack for the earlier ones.

Things get more intriguing! Shutterstock have uploaded two more sets of telesnaps from the Dry Runs of Coronation Street in 1960. Absolutely incredible!

The animations are a worse, and more boring, viewing experience than the telesnaps, flattening all nuance in the performances.
October 15, 2025 at 1:01 PM
Also what is this fuckybollocks about it not being in any telesnaps?
October 10, 2024 at 3:50 PM
I'll make some telesnaps just to be safe.

Before this episode was found in the basement of a Mormon Church, we had to make do with Telesnaps.

I’ve never got on with The Smugglers. It’s not bad but it’s a story that never leaves much of an impression.

But following the audio with the telesnaps and the camera script has really helped to visualise how it moved.

I’ve got an idea to take a missing episode and match the shots to telesnaps

When I say it's a clever way, I mean creating the still images to recreate the missing ep telesnaps thing.

It can be done in other ways though.
