January's Wool of The Month has been chosen. For sheer dedication to utter bad trab woolness and Texanism he was a clear choice.
Congrats to @danfriedkinscp.bsky.social

That's mostly because a lot of (but not all) Texans, and especially a lot of famous or high profile Texans, have a performative Texanism that is super duper annoying

And also Texanism ,a step up for Woolism.

I might have uttered the most Texas Texanism since I made a DPS officer in the TX capitol sputter in laughter at my Rick Perry joke.

Today:
“More futile than trying to put ballet shoes on a kangaroo.”

Quoting an old "Texanism": "He *needed* killin'!"
Some words from the late Charlie Kirk.....

If you do a search for “Do Texas call sodas Coke?” You will get a lot of verifications on this fact .
I may speak English - but it doesn't mean I understand what Texans are talking about #Texas #Coke #Soda #lostintranslation #southerners #Texans #texanism #country #CountryLiving #thatenglishmanintex...

A blunt Texan way of saying: keep up or step aside. Either rise to the challenge—or don’t pretend you’re in the race (yet).
Check in next week for another fun Texanism!

You absolute wool with 100% dedication to Texanism. I couldn't do more to advertise my presence but you were a no show. Just as well because your jaw would now be in Southport lad.

Others have tried to connect the name to a particular woman or historical figure. None of those theories have been proven correct.
While we may never know who Betsy was, one thing is certain: she’s been blamed for people’s astonishment for a very long time!

A huge part of my un-Texanism comes, directly, from my mother, who, whenever someone would refer to her as a Texan, would retort with the most cutting “Listen here, there would be no Texas, if it weren’t for Tennessee!” Her eyes could kill. 😂😂

If I could be allowed a Texanism, I can't think of a name more evocative of old-era-Twitter happy horseshit than that one. And yes, I'll bet she is.

Joe Rogan is more than a few bricks shy of a load.

To use a Texanism, “if brains were leather, he couldn’t saddle a flea.“

🤠 This week’s Texanism: “I’ve got a hitch in my giddy up.”🌵
Translation: something’s off. You’re slowed down, sore, annoyed, or dealing with a problem you didn’t plan on—but you’re still moving forward. Just not smoothly.
Check back weekly for more Texanisms. 🤠

It means something’s been bothering them—like a burr under the saddle they just can’t shake. Maybe it’s an unfair deal, a rude comment, or something that just doesn’t sit right. We don’t always let things slide… especially when they stick in our craw. See you next week for another Texanism!

Pardon my Texanism (even though I have lived in California now for over 20 years), but hon I am not planning on doing anything for it either. No parade. No "parties". I wrote some quotes from Harvey Milk on our cafe window but...pride comes from within. And it sounds like you are already there :)

I didn't attend the Palace game and Texanism set in. I have reasserted my authority.

Need a fun intensifier? Then “plumb” is the word for you!

You could be plumb tickled, plumb proud or plumb out of luck.

No matter what plumb you are, it adds to the adjective in a plumb good way! 🤠

Meaning: It isn't worth much or doesn't really matter.
🤠 Example: "You can argue all day, but it doesn't amount to a hill of beans if the fence still needs fixing."
A fun old Texas way of saying something just isn't all that important.
