Yes, Wangford Warren in Suffolk - near RAF Lakenheath. Grass and sand, including areas of bare sand that got very warm in the sun. It's a lovely place but not open to the public. Also Steatoda albomaculata and other jumpers. I hadn't seen Asagena before. Seen Thanatus in several places, though.

Yes, Wangford Warren in Suffolk - near RAF Lakenheath. Grass and sand, including areas of bare sand that got very warm in the sun. It's a lovely place but not open to the public. Also Steatoda albomaculata and other jumpers. I hadn't seen Asagena before. Seen Thanatus in several places, though.
A short trip over the border to Suffolk. Others have better and more photos, but a few nice spiders seen.

Camped out at Big Larch Campground at Seeley Lake #Montana, which is free between (US) Labor Day & Memorial Day. This little spider (some species of Thanatus) popped by, & this red squirrel barked at me like I owed him money.😅 3/3

Thank you! Inaturalist did suggest Thanatus, thank you for the confirmation! I’m not sure where they got that common name but that’s the one that they’re using primarily for the species entry. Maybe leftover.

I've never come across that common name, but that's a Thanatus, yes. (Not a crab spider, though, and not even as closely related to them as was thought for a long time. I think the entire family Philodromidae once started out as a subfamily of Thomisidae, but they've moved quite a bit away since.)

Yes - I was a bit more selective with what I bought home today, but have ticked off a few not-rarities that I somehow haven't seen before. Like P.gibbum, and Zygiella atrica. A few things still to id. Thanatus striatus was nice though - can't recall if I've had that there, or from elsewhere.
