On theCUBE Pod: AI bubble lets out some air
The hubbub at the New York Stock Exchange was audible on theCUBE Pod last Friday, with concerns rising over the artificial intelligence bubble. Several tech companies, including Intel Corp., Alphabet Inc., Amazon.com Inc., CoreWeave Inc. and Fortinet Inc., saw their stock fall, suggesting that investors may have doubts about all that AI infrastructure spending. At the same time, Anthropic PBC filed for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which looks to be a grand debut for one of the biggest AI developers out there (despite the company still not turning a profit). Also causing a stir is the announcement that NYSE parent company, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), will partner with Trade[XYZ] to bring perpetual futures markets built on cryptocurrency trading platform, Hyperliquid, to the U.S., subject to regulatory approval. “The whole idea of exchange is going to change,” said John Furrier (pictured, left), executive analyst at theCUBE Research. “It reminds me of cloud computing, how it re-leveled the data center. NYSE is the cathedral of capitalism. Nasdaq started as an over-the-counter bulletin board. Tech was early there and then only listed there. But now the game has changed. It’s very interesting to see how the competition...

Rack-scale AI: How Dell and AMD are building infrastructure
Dell Technologies Inc. and its partner Advanced Micro Devices Inc. face similar competitive pressures. Both tech powerhouses operate in a business climate where success is now measured across central processing units, graphics processing units, rack-scale systems, memory capacity, network bandwidth and tokens per dollar. The pressure to compete across those measures underscores what theCUBE Research has termed “Engineering Velocity.” Since the Dell Technologies World event in May, AMD and Dell have not slowed their pace of collaborations and announcements. AMD and Dell are working to build enterprise AI infrastructure that can keep pace with changing workloads and customer requirements. “In AI infrastructure, the winner may not be the company with the best benchmark on keynote day,” said theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante. “It will more likely be the company whose engineering system learns, validates and improves the entire platform faster than anyone else.” This feature is part of SiliconANGLE Media’s exploration of the architectural shifts powering continuous, production-grade AI. Be sure to check out theCUBE’s “Dell AI Data Platform Event: From Ambition to AI at Scale” and its past coverage of this year’s Dell Technologies World. (* Disclosure below.) Cloudera builds its AI strategy around deployment flexibility
Deployment flexibility is changing the enterprise technology equation as businesses weigh new model options against existing data and development investments. Open-weight models and open-source clouds are renewing interest in on-premises deployment. Cloudera Inc.’s data analytics heritage gives it a foundation for addressing that demand, according to Paul Gillin (pictured, right), enterprise editor at SiliconANGLE Media and theCUBE. “Companies want to have control that they don’t think that they’re getting in the public cloud,” he said. “I think Cloudera sees that, and they’re not ashamed to say that this is what they’re all about.” Gillin spoke with co-host Rebecca Knight (left) at EVOLVE26, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed deployment flexibility, platform modernization and Cloudera’s approach to partnerships. (* Disclosure below.) Deployment flexibility supports gradual modernization Cloudera’s Anywhere Cloud spans on-premises, private cloud, public cloud and hybrid environments. Beyond that deployment flexibility, its architecture addresses the practical challenge of updating enterprise systems as development requirements change, according to Gillin. “They realize that forklift upgrades are a terrifying prospect for many [chief information officers], and so they’re modularizing the product so that you can selectively patch and upgrade components that are important to you,” he said...

What to expect during Intuit Connect: Join theCUBE Oct. 28
Will bringing automation into the financial industry prove disastrous or transformative? Intuit Inc., the financial technology company behind Credit Karma, QuickBooks and TurboTax, sees artificial intelligence as the next frontier of financial software. The industry is moving from manual reconciliation and data entry to proactive financial planning and analysis, according to Paul Nashawaty, principal analyst for theCUBE Research. Intuit is leading that shift. “AI allows for continuous, real-time insights rather than retrospective reporting,” Nashawaty said. “However, the peril remains data accuracy and the ‘black box’ nature of financial decision-making; firms must ensure explainability and human-in-the-loop governance for compliance. Intuit’s strategy appears focused on embedding these capabilities directly into its platform workflow, effectively turning its accounting tools into an AI-driven autonomous finance engine.” At Intuit Connect, experts and analysts will gather to discuss the integration of AI into accounting and financial operations, with exclusive coverage on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, airing Oct. 28. TheCUBE will cover Intuit’s approach to AI-powered automation and its implications for financial operations. (* Disclosure below.) What to expect during EVOLVE26: Join theCUBE on Oct. 27
Running artificial intelligence agents across an enterprise requires more than access to computing power. Companies also need to manage data security, governance and performance across cloud and on-premises systems, particularly as agentic workflows move into production. At last year’s EVOLVE25 event, Cloudera Inc. positioned itself as a platform for hybrid workloads, with an “AI anywhere” approach that encompasses the edge, on-premises infrastructure and the cloud. Now, the company is looking to make good on that promise as enterprises put agentic AI to work across increasingly complex data environments, according to Paul Nashawaty, principal analyst for theCUBE Research. “Last year, the narrative was about establishing a hybrid, ‘AI anywhere’ foundation,” he said. “This year, expect the conversation to pivot to the operationalization of that vision. The focus has moved from abstract potential to the mechanics of running production-grade AI at scale, proving that enterprise data architectures can handle the rigors of agentic workflows.” At Cloudera EVOLVE26 in New York City, theCUBE will cover how the company is translating its hybrid AI strategy into production capabilities, including advances in data governance, agentic workflows and AI deployment across distributed environments. TheCUBE’s exclusive coverage airs Oct. 27, featuring conversations with industry leaders and experts...

What to expect during Oracle AI World: Join theCUBE Oct. 28
The motivation behind database modernization has traditionally been greater efficiency and cost savings. Yet, theCUBE Research has also found that there is a larger prize at stake: AI projects built on top of a modernized foundation can generate significant value. The ultimate goal is to progress beyond a fragmented data estate, which can slow teams down and make governance more difficult. AI projects need to be repeatable and scalable in production, and this will be a central focus of discussion during Oracle AI World in Las Vegas later this month. “For Oracle customers, the strategic question is becoming: Are we simply reducing infrastructure cost, or are we creating a better platform for repeatable AI execution?” said theCUBE Research’s Dave Vellante. “The value is not only in automation, standardization and operational efficiency. The bigger opportunity is using that foundation to get onto the AI learning curve earlier, free skilled teams from routine administration, improve governance consistency and accelerate the development of AI use cases over time. Database modernization is still an IT decision. But, increasingly, it is also an AI readiness decision that impacts all parts of the business.” TheCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, will be covering the latest news and...

What to expect at Dell Technologies New York Symposium: Join theCUBE Oct. 20
Most financial institutions today don’t suffer from a lack of customer data; the problem is how to turn the data they have into something useful. The challenge lies in sifting through CRM logs, channel interactions, transaction streams and market signals that are frequently siloed. The solution is technology that can connect and unify data, understand context and act in real time. Moving beyond AI models and bringing these three capabilities together is the goal of the AI data infrastructure that Dell Technologies Inc. offers its financial clients. “In many cases, the model is not the next constraint, the data is,” said Arthur Lewis, president of the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell. “That is the problem that the AI Data Platform was built to solve. Within the Dell AI Factory, it is the data foundation that curates, connects and serves enterprise data to fuel the AI, and especially agentic AI.” How Dell’s platform creates a more efficient data path from raw enterprise information to AI-ready context in the financial services industry will be a central focus of the Dell Technologies New York Symposium on Oct. 20. Dell executives and industry experts will join analysts from theCUBE Research to discuss the growing...

On theCUBE Pod: AI doubters get loud, and IBM seeks competitive advantage
Americans have big concerns about artificial intelligence, but that hasn’t stopped OpenAI Inc., Nvidia Corp., IBM Corp. and others from charging ahead. Last week saw shares of Nvidia, CoreWeave Inc., Oracle Corp. and Nebius Group N.V. decline amid reports that OpenAI’s annualized net revenue was approximately $50 billion, roughly $20 billion below previously reported figures. Despite the ongoing public pushback against AI, John Furrier (pictured, right), research executive analyst at theCUBE Research, sees the uproar as temporary. “This is an AI freakout moment,” he said. “It’s funny to watch knowing what’s happening on the inside. We talk to all those suppliers, whether it’s Nvidia, the chip side … the neoclouds or the AI infrastructure clouds. This new AI layer is a system; the data center as a system is now the computer. Rack scale is changing. Companies like Marvell, Broadcom and others are creating chips to create more efficiencies.” On the latest episode of theCUBE Pod, Furrier and Dave Vellante (pictured, left), chief analyst at theCUBE Research, discussed takeaways from the recent IBM Analyst Council. They also explored chipmaker Marvell Technology Inc.’s growth and the industry shift toward inference. IBM bets on commodity models Big Blue’s recent meeting provided insights...

What to expect during LogicMonitor's Elevate event: Join theCUBE Oct. 14
Enterprise IT teams are deploying applications faster than ever, but their ability to detect and resolve production problems isn’t always keeping pace. The growing complexity of hybrid infrastructure, cloud-native applications and interconnected digital services is putting pressure on traditional monitoring approaches. As organizations accelerate software delivery and expand their use of AI, IT operations teams must manage increasingly complex environments while maintaining application performance and business continuity. “Our AppDev research indicates that 63.7% of organizations deploy applications daily or multiple times per day, while 46.5% report that required deployment speeds have increased by 50–100% over the past three years,” said theCUBE Research’s Paul Nashawaty, practice lead and principal analyst. “Yet 32.3% still take hours to become aware of production issues. These findings highlight the growing disconnect between accelerated software delivery and the ability to maintain real-time operational visibility.” Closing that gap is a central theme of LogicMonitor’s Elevate event, taking place Oct. 13–14 in Chicago. The conference brings together IT leaders, practitioners and technology experts to discuss Autonomous IT, an approach that uses AI-powered observability, predictive intelligence and automation to help systems identify, diagnose and increasingly resolve problems with less manual intervention. On Oct. 14, theCUBE will livestream its coverage...
