I’m pretty astonished by HOW good The Zone looks in my hands. Top notch production.

[THE ARCHITECT]

Based off of a game of the Zone I played this past week. Her name is June! I need to play her again to really do her justice I think. Anyways her mutations are cool. She's becoming a building, you know
#characterdesign #ocart #digitalart #thezonerpg
A woman with long, brown hair, rough skin, and glasses drawing marks on herself. The marks on her arm are the indicator for drywall, with marks on her cheeks indicating valves. She looks calm as she draws, and she's wearing colorful clothing with lots of bright shapes. In the corner of the screen is a little sketch of her smoking.

There are strange places, where strange things happen, places like THE ZONE. A low prep roleplaying game of visiting such places and the changes you experience there.

I was playing The Zone with my friends and I could not get this moment out of my head (shoutout to @strawberrysmiles.bsky.social for the banger dialogue)

#digitalart #thezonerpg
A human version of Thoryn, weakly coughing and shaking while holding themself. Tears are streaming down their face. "I-I'm so sorry.. P-please..." Something unseen speaks up in an ethereal voice. "Don't apologize." In a fish tank, before Thoryn, is a lone black squid with a singular blue eye. Its fins are damaged. "You..." Thoryn takes a step back. "Why don't you like me?"

Hey. I heard you like dogboys. Behold my man. His name is Reese, he's a war criminal, and I want to throw him in a woodchipper. He's such an asshole agh. I love him. More art to come I swear.

#digitalart #ocart #thezonerpg #dogboy #bodyhorror
Halfshot of Reese, just to get his mutations down. He has one dog ear, one dog eye, long canines on one side, a dog nose, and a tail. Ref sheet I did of him before he got all of his mutations. These are the iconic ones, though. (Also showing off his necklaces, one cross necklace that he keeps tucked into his shirt, and his dog tags which he keeps on display.) Character on the right belongs to roughly6500bees. Unforchies he's not on bsky but whatevs. Her name is Desmond, and she was an expedition partner of Reese's. Don't worry about what happens to her she's fine. Reese's tail is WAY too high up on his back, and it causes a lot of back problems for the guy. He has both a regular human coccyx and his dog tail. I'm sure his skeleton would look pretty funky.

Today I played #TheZoneRPG by @raphdamico.bsky.social with @silliet.bsky.social @strangeworlder.bsky.social. We had a superb eve of co-creation, surreal events & a lot of Type 2 fun!

Also, the true horror were the dogs we made along the way.

The #ActualPlay video will be released later this year.
A screen capture of The Zone RPG's digital version. There's text over a background filled with flora, fauna, and an animal's skull that are all set against a wire fence. The text reads: "You are now in The Zone. The next few scenes will be about exploring The Zone, developing your characters, and most importantly being very irresponsible" We, as the players followed this advice with our characters and it lead to some great collaborative storytelling! A screen capture of The Zone RPG's digital version. There's an official-looking report with the logo of the fictional in-universe Federal Bureau of Coherence in the upper left corner and a header, which reads: "FBC Case Report" next to it. Under it there's the surviving character's archtype, which has been covered with a black color bar. Under that reads: "Classified" and "Operation God Glow". The report begins with a header that reads: "Survivor Interview Notes". The only line that is left uncovered reads: "INTERVIEWER: Our reports say you entered The Zone wanting to".

More art from the Zone!! This time featuring Him, a parasite thingy made originally to try and lead Thoryn astray who ended up taking pity on them, as well as Them, His creator!
#thezonerpg #ocart
On the left, a sketch of Thoryn talking to Him (a blackish ink blob with a singular blue eye attached to their arm). On the right, a little shitpost comic. Thoryn stumbles across a body of water. Him: "Thoryn-" Thoryn: "NO." Him: "You know what you must do." Thoryn: "Not happening." Him: "Return to the sea. Indulge." Thoryn: "Shut up." (One must imagine Thoryn getting more and more flustered as this conversation continues) My first interpretation of Them, a figure with only half a face, while the whole of it is obscured by a blinding white. They have a black smile that lays over the glow, they're wearing a tie, and they have a landline that they use to communicate. Them, looking at Him: Why do you look like that? Him, having taken a new physical form: New haircut? Them: YOU DON'T HAVE HAIR.

It's based on the New Weird genre (think Annihilation and the like) and all the art is delightfully greebly and sooo shiny. #thezonerpg

Now to put on Muppets Christmas Carol and consider packing.
