With my new drawing tablet, I have plans. One of them is to make a Genshin Comic inspired by chats with @maheylis.bsky.social

I'll make a hashtag for it based on the title. I'm calling it "The Mini Matra". Character art and info soon.

A picture of a comic cover. The comic is being made on Genshin Impact's character Cyno and his role as General Mahamatra, leader of the Sumaru Matra. The top says the comic title "The Mini Matra" and the picture is 4 people walking in the desert in a cute chibi style. In front is Cyno in his signature jackal helmate and outfit. Behind him are three people in a green uniform. The uniform is all matching each other as they are training to be Matra for the Akademiya. The outfit for field work is based on Taj from Genshin impact. An NPC who was a matra and worked with Cyno but later died. Each person behind Cyno is distinct. Two boys and one girl. The boy in front has glasses and red hair, while the one in the middle is really tall with bright green fox ears and tail. He also has Vitiligo, and so he has patches on his skin that are lighter than others. The girl in the back is a darker brown skin with black hair and a few scars on her like she has seen battle before.

The next page. I felt a bit lazy, so just 1 page today.

#theminimatra #cyno #Alhaitham #genshinimpact #genshin
The page starts with Siham's hand retracting as she leaves the iced coffee on Alhaitham's desk. Siham: "Here's your coffee. Ok, guys, last one." The next image is Alhaitham's teal eye and him smirking. The transition is a black screen. It is implied that Alhaitham is either thinking or talking to himself. Alhaitham: "Is it that time already? Well... this will be entertaining..." The last pannel is a door in between two bookshelves. Our three young Matra look at the imposing door with a jackal head symbol and above it the Akademiya symbol used for the Matra as well. The door has a plack on it that reads "General Mahamatra Cyno" obscured by Riki's big head and ears. Neko: "This is it... do you think he's as bad as they say?" Siham: "i hope so." Neko: "Wha?!" Riki: "Relax... im sure the rumors are just that... rumors. Let's finish the job already."

The picture reads as follows: Matra Registry Name: Riki Nickname: "Furrball" Gender: Cis Male Pronouns: He/Him Age: 17 Species/Race: Vulkah Shauna Descendant Hair Color: Mint Green Eye Color: Light Blue Fun Facts: - His Mother is a Vulkah Shauna Descendant, Father is a refugee from Inizuma when the Vision Hunt was happening. Father thought his mother was a Kitsune at first. - Has never fought in combat before. - Very disciplined and loyal, gets that from his father's side. He wants to do good, but he is nervous and worried he won't be good enough to be a Matra. - He heard about Cyno’s deeds and saving Sumaru and thinks he is amazing. He wants to be like Cyno. - He really likes Cyno’s helmate but is afraid to ask about it. On the side is a picture of a boy with short mint green hair. He has large fox ears and a tail and is wearing a green matra uniform like a solider. He holds a spear with a green ribon tied to it and stands facing the left. His skin is a tan with lighter patches due to vitiligo. The picture reads as follows: Matra Registry Name: Siham Nickname: "Talon" Gender: Non-Binary Pronouns: She/They Age: 15 Species/Race: Human - Erimite Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Purple Fun Facts: - Their parents are both Erimite Mercenaries. She grew up learning the trade. - Upon hearing about a Desert Dweller who made it big in the Rainforest/city, they had her curiosity peeked. - When they heard said Desert Dweller, Cyno, helped take down the sages and free the Dendro Archon their path was set. - They think Cyno is a man of myth and legend who would be an amazing mercenary or desert tribal leader if he ever had to change jobs. In their eyes, Cyno could be a living God. - thought the uniform was too stuffy and hot, so they altered it. - They are defiant and a bit headstrong. Acts more like a hotheaded mercenary than a Matra. To the side is a feminine presenting persom with dark brown skin and black hair. Her head is turned to the side bit she is facing the front. She has a few scars on her stomach and neck from battle and wears the same green uniform as the others but differently, mainly the white top is tied like a bra rather then worn properly. Her spear has a feather and beads tied to it. The picture reads as follows: Matra Registry Name: Niko (Nicholas) Nickname: "Specs" Gender: Female to Male Trans Man (FtM) Pronouns: He/Him Age: 14 Species/Race: Human Hair Color: Red Eye Color: Gray Fun Facts: - Born in Snezhnaya, he moved with his grandparents after his parents died when he was very young. - When applying for the position, he almost didn't get accepted when the Matra and Akademiya learned of his heritage and that his parents were once Fatui members. Cyno pushed the application through believing in redemption rather than criminalizing the child for his parents' actions. Neko is unaware of this. - He is terrified of Cyno and very nervous around him but also idolizes him. He is like a fan meeting their hero, very nervous around them. - He is studying in Spantamad and the only one of the trio who is also in the Akademiya. - He would rather be one of the matra doing bookwork, but every matra is required a certain amount of field experience. Wanting to be like Cyno, he wants to prove he can do field work and book work. - He has absolutely no combat experience or skills. Besides that is a picture of a nervous looking boy with short hair and a braid at the side of his face. He holds a spear like the others and is also wearing the green matra uniform. He has glasses on and is facing forward.

The next two pages are done!!!

We see Riki knock 3 times on the door. Cyno says, "Come in." The next pannel is Cyno sitting at his desk looking bored as he leans on his arm and reads some paperwork. There's a large stack of documents on his desk and in the background a bookshelf, some form of award, possibly his diploma, and a photo of him and two other people on his wall. Nest we see Siham lookong very exoted with stars in her eyes as Riki looks slightly miffed and shushes her. Siham: "It's him! It's really him! Great King Desseret above he looks just as the elders described! He really does look like a God amongst men. Do you think he can lift a Sumpter Beast? I was once told he could. Think we can get him to show us?" The next slide is a very nervous and trembling Neko as he holds out the tray with the last coffee. Neko: "Here... here's your coffee, sir... we're sorry it took us so long. there are a lot of Matra to find and the Scribe..." The next two slides are Cyno and his crimson red eyes looking at a paper as it lowers he looks up. The simple words "You failed" leave his mouth. The three young matra look utterly defeated as you can practically hear the glass shattering of their pride right there. Neko's soul practically leaves his body as the three know they have messed up. Cyno sighs and eases them down with a simple "At ease rookies. Let me explain." The next slide is an adorable chibi purple jackal to represent Cyno and a diagram of the two coffees. It shows the two owners they were supposed to go to being an angry purple jackal (cyno) and a dumb looking snow leopard with their tounge out (Alhaitham lovingly depicted by Cyno) Cyno: "The simple conclusion is that you assumed based on my appearance and stories that I preferred bitter and tasteless drinks. Anyone with eyes can tell that much." The next slide, we see Cyno with his arms crossed as he stands and explains in a gentle manner the purpose of the test. The three young matra are at the bottom of the page, looking ashamed as they are lectured. Cyno: Relax, though... this test is a test every Matra I have trained gets, and every Matra who has done this test fails. you aren't the first and won't be the last... and before you ask, I didn't expect failure but but I'm not ignorant of my reputation. The goal is to teach, and the lesson is simple. you can't judge a book by its cover. it's a simple lesson I often have to remind myself of at times. As Matra, it is our duty to uphold the laws and protect not only Sumaru but the scholars who break those laws. They can hurt even themselves in thier blind pursuit for knowledge. As Matra, we must ensure the rules are followed, and we can't assume based on facts we dont have. (I can't fit the text fully here, so the rest will be in the comments)

The Mini Matra: Coffee Run A year has passed since the Akademiya was reclaimed by the Dendro Archon. Cyno has claimed the second Ba Fragment from Sethos, and the Matra is back in order under his command. Now is a new year, and with that brings new Matra to train... (We see someone holding a paper that seems to read coffee orders, but we can't tell what ones as it's mostly cut off. The paper has the akademiya logo on it.) Siham: "I can't believe it's our first day, and we're..." "We're buying everyone coffee." (Two people stand here in matra uniforms. One is a darker skinned girl pouting, and one is a boy with ears and a tail looking over to the girl. He has vitiligo, so his skin has light and dark patches) Riki: "Could be worse. We could be cleaning up Sumpert Beast dung." Siham: "At least that is work." Riki: "Faster, we get this done, the faster we get to training." Siham: "Fine" Riki: "good... Thank you. Bye." (We see Riki's tail leaving off screen and a woman at a counter who is cleaning the counter. She has an aperon on and a cash register by her side. A large bag of mora was left for her by the young matra) Shopkeeper: "Goodbye." (She waits for them to leave before continuing) "... Oh boy, he is going to work them like dogs..." (Here we see the girl Siham looking over the order list. Behind her is a matra walking off drinking coffee) Siham: "Why in Al-Ahmar's name would you put drinks down and not names with the drinks?" Riki: "He likely wants us to figure it out. We are Matra now, and our duty involves investigating..." (We see Riki with his fox ear swiviling to hear her as he hands a matra a coffee waying "Here you go" to them as they say "thanks." Behind him are two matra chatting.) Siham: "Good point." (We now see the third of the trio who originally held the paper. He has short hair with a brade on the sade and glasses. His skin is much fairer than the other two. He is holding a tray with twoo drinks on it.) Niko: "We just have two left." Siham: "Which one's?" Niko: "The two really complicated ones." Siham: "Figures the important people would have the complex ones... Let me see." (We now see a zoom in on the two drinks. One is hot and one is cold. The cold one is labeled "Iced caramel latte with extra cream, sugar, caramel, and chocolate," and the other is labled "Sumaru black with three shots of espresso) Siham: "Oh, this will be easy. This one is the general's, and that has to be the Scribe's." (We now see the trio standing together. Siham is pointing to the coffees while Niko looks uncertain and Riki looks slighyl annoyed) Riki: "How can you be so sure?" Siham: "Do you really rhink the General would drink that? It's practically cake in a cup." Niko: "... Maybe we should ask?" Siham: "Nah, he would want us to prove ourselves and show we know him. Besides, you said we are supposed to investigate things." Riki: *sighs* "whatever you say..."
