Estinien (holding Nidhogg's Eye): In close combat, this will afford us an advantage. And with two Azure Dragoons working in unison, who can say what might be possible?

Cid and Nero have old married couple energy and I'm here for it.

"What more will it take for us to be reconciled? A gift, perhaps?"

Nero to Cid: Come, Garlond. You know me better than to think that I spoke in jest. What more will it take for us to be reconciled? A gift, perhaps?

Communion

Serve. Save. Slay.
Justice. Sacrifice.
A voice in the abyss,
A familiar sensation.
A cradle for the heart,
An esteemed companion.
A friend here to share your burdens,
Should you let them take over the reins.

The DRK questline is an absolute marvel and it inspired me to write a few lines. After years of research writing, creative writing feels like a balm for the soul. AI is an abomination and needs to die.

Themis meets Fray! A key moment in his journey.

My favorite job quest, written by Ishikawa-san herself.

A Veena Viera stands over the discarded corpse of a dark knight in the Brume in Ishgard. Open your eyes. Look. Do you see now? Do you see? Fray: Not so fast. We need to talk about what's happening to you - what's growing within you, before you get carried away. Fray: Do it without proper training, however, and well...it might hurt.

Interesting dragon blood lore I had overlooked.
Ishgardian Elezen transform when ingesting dragon blood because their ancestors consumed Ratatoskr's eyes.
A curse of their own making.

Hraesvelgr: Know that all the traitors' progeny bear a trace of Ratatoskr's essence. But a single sip of our blood is enough to awaken it. Ysayle: Then... the seed lies within us...?

The part that made me fall hard for Ysayle.

"What sorcery is this...? That my heart should stir at mere... *fluffiness*..."

#ffxiv #ff14 #themsq
Ysayle: What manner of creature is that...? Ysayle: So exceedingly fluffy... Ysayle: What - Why do you stare at me so? Can I not find a creature adorable? My heart is not truly made of ice... Ysayle: What sorcery is this...? That my heart should stir at mere... *fluffiness*...

Replaying through Rak'tika, this is the first time we see traces of Hades in Emet-Selch. He's yet unaware (or in denial) of our connection to Azem, yet we catch a little glimpse into their relationship.

#ffxiv #themsq
Emet-Selch: So what trouble have you gotten yourselves into this time? Emet-Selch: Oh...very well. I'll go and fetch her... Emet-Selch: You do know how to whistle, don't you, hero? Just put your lips together and blow. Themis: Says the Arch-bringer of Chaos. Emet-Selch: Ah hah hah! Flattery will get you nowhere, dear boy.

With my 2nd FFXIV anniversary fast approaching, I have been wanting to revisit the MSQ.

I love how Estinien refers to moogles as "ridiculous flying rodents" and "furry lumps". Also, Mog from FFVI mention!

#ffxiv #ff14 #themsq
Estinien: The Fury take these ridiculous flying rodents! Estinien: Such contradictions aside, our hosts seemed entranced by the height of my leap. They compared me to “Mog,” a lance-wielding moogle warrior of eld who also favored such attacks. Estinien: 'Twas meant as a compliment, I expect, but I doubt these furry lumps could outleap a karakul lamb, much less a dragoon. Conclude your business here swiftly, Themis - I like not this place.
