General Discussion • Re: Pale Moon and Basilisk mentioned in latest TheRegister news article
@ andyprough I started using Debian at version 12.2 (Bookworm) with the Xfce desktop environment as my backup linux distro to MX Linux. On my second SSD, it is now running at the time of this post Debian 13.7 (Trixie). With Debian, one can choose the official "live" versions of Xfce, Gnome and KDE to see which of these DE's they would like "for a test drive" without installing Debian. https://www.debian.org/distrib/ If one chooses the Xfce desktop environment, one does "not" need to install Pale Moon to use it. Looking at the link and the comments you posted, at the bottom of the page, a person who is not a power user is going to be jolted by using the Terminal with those instructions. I would take a guess and say that would tend for people "not" to use Pale Moon. And I am the perfect example of this. Granted I am a little "tech savvy", but I only use the Terminal in Debian (and MX Linux) when I have to. With Xfce, one can download the Pale Moon tarball from the link below. https://www.palemoon.org/download.shtml From there, if a person does not want to install Pale Moon, they can extract the Pale Moon folder from the tarball, then place the folder where they want it. In my case, I always place the extracted Pale Moon folder in my Documents folder which is in the Thunar file manager. Then all I do is add a launcher icon. Once that is done, I open Properties for the launcher with a right click and to sum up, create the path from the Pale Moon folder to the launcher icon along with creating the Pale Moon logo on the launcher icon and then I launch linux Pale Moon. All this is done by using gui windows. This allows me to "get away" from the using the Terminal. Works every time. And one can see my Pale Moon launcher icon by looking at the screenshot (attachment) below. It is near the right side of my Panel next to the left of the Firefox launcher icon, with all the the other launcher icons I use, on a regular basis. This works for both Debian and MX Linux so long as one is using the Xfce DE where they do "not" want, by choice, to have Pale Moon installed. Below is my example using the MX Linux distro's Panel since I am typing this post using the MX Linux. * * *

What would a database built specifically for AI agents look like? We may not know yet.

Percona CEO Peter Farkas spoke with @TheRegister about agentic workloads and why today’s answer may not be tomorrow’s.
