I took this in Scotland, Luss on Loch Lomond. Love the house lost in the landscape. I used this ad the last of 10 images in my LRPS submission with The RPS

trying to find a couples counselor to act as a breakup counselor is so strange. like, we don’t want to arbitrate property, we just want a path where we can heal separately and together and create something new? do therps do that?

With therps you have to be patient and keep moving till you land on a good fit, while taking any worthwhile assistance along the way.

and those therps should actually be handing letters out left and right cause they have a real legal shield unlike individual practitioners. and yet… they are the worst

I enjoyed going to therapy, but went through two therps (one year each) without getting a whole lot out of it beyond, "keep doing what you're doing," and, like... i would like to NOT have to.

There is also a high rate of clinician change, the job itself has a high turnover rate, and if you truly have no need for CBT you often get "graduated" out by therps who don't know there even are other options. So, it's rare you get to build a real patient|doctor relationship even after decades.

We understand. Our last therapist re-traumatized us... had ten years of useless "we're graduating you out cause you seem fine" and then ended up with... whatever that was and dropped out. You should say it anyway, they're paid to hear it and if they can't handle it you should switch therps.

did you know that when doctors, therps, and annoying tiktok ppl say “go outside and take a walk it’s good for your mental and physical health and will help you sleep better,” they’re right? it’s bullshit and i hate it.

yeah any good counselor is gonna try to get you close enough codes to get you covered (dysthymia if nothing else lol), so yeah, the real mess we have is that a lot of therps just stopped taking any insurance which i understand but like it’s fucked up, we cannot be doing that

Fair. Careful with the therp as a friend situation, it can be nice but also can be pretty bad. When we say paid we mean they get paid, we didn't pay any of our therps directly, all government program pay... but the idea stands in our mind. There there to hear you, so you should be able to speak.

Anyway I’m being a shit person and me and my partner are going to go play with him while my roommate is in a telehealth therps appt

felt that. how current executive dysfunction descriptions read to new therps only trained in CBT is fun 🙃 (at least we know to get out quick when we spot it)

what’s aca in this context? i would love answers on re-parenting bc it was not well explained by my therps
