Good serious answer though, is that the same Theseus of Theseus' ship "the more you fix something with new parts is it still the same thing" or is that a different one.

I've always liked the story of Icarus.

Also, how are you today sir?

Oh this is a good question of the day! I'd probably say Theseus, who slew the Minotaur! It's my favorite Greek myth :)

And the Theseus log says that a torpedo was also fired at her. It was only when she tried to warn Hawke that a U-boat was in the area, and got no reply, that they feared she'd been lost.

You know someone is an intellectual if they refer to something that has had all its component parts replaced as the ship of Theseus rather than Trigger’s broom

the ship of theseus thought experiment, applied to a digital ghost, it’s a valid question. but the way it’s posed in these writings, the constant obsession with originality just misses the point.

Yeah I would like if Israel became a state of all its citizens and who’s to say if that’s a different state of Theseus but all US intervention could usefully accomplish would be removing much of their ability to project military force

He has a name written beside him - Tuchulcha, labelled in Etruscan, and he turns up in no other tomb. The snake is aimed at These, Theseus, seated with Aita and Phersipnai. The tomb's own name is a misreading: the officer who opened it in 1868 took a painted cyclops for the god Orcus.

Chris Drury keeps slapping pieces to this roster like its a Ship of Theseus and expects everything to just work. There's no real system or identity in place to build around.

Another major issue, from an org level, is the lack of innovation. The Rangers have never, EVER been at the forefront.

I don't remember a version of the Ship of Theseus where each plank gets replaced with a screaming demon, and when the whole thing is nothing but demons bolted together screaming for your soul, you realise that whether this can still be called a ship isn't actually the most pressing question.

"You're gonna love this ship of Theseus that I just built even though I don't care about the type of ship, I don't know who Theseus is, I've never seen a body of water, I'm unfamiliar with how wood works, &, frankly, I think the whole concept of 'the past' is a touch too sissy for me."
