Can confirm: third party payment providers have not been proactively informing their customers about this change! Also can confirm: the approved vendors also do not seem to be extremely aware of this change and will tell you you don't need their services!

I started my newsletter ten (or more?) years ago, before Patreon or Substack were a thing. It went out (and still does) via Mailchimp, with a cobbled-together payment system through a third party (campaignzee). It's basically baling wire and chewing gum, but it is what was available at the time.
