Or maybe the answer is none of the above. Keep the greatly reduced stars but don't darken the background quite so much so more extended faint details are visible.

I got some more data on the Helix Nebula too, now totalling just over 11 hours. I think this is about as good as it's going to get with the Thirty Millimetre Telescope.
