I hadn't realised Thoughtworks had dropped Cloud Carbon Footprint. Today's speaker at @greenio-podcast.bsky.social recommends SPRUCE (opensourcegreenops.cloud) instead.

Always worth reading the fine print. e.g., people citing a "study" done by someone at ThoughtWorks that concluded that asking agents to do TDD produced no discernible benefit.

If you read the blog post, they actually failed to get the agent to follow the TDD discipline. Not the same thing.

NEW POST

Even with LLMs, @birgitta410.bsky.social still cares about the code: “LLMs are NOT compilers, interpreters, transpilers or assemblers of natural language, they are inferrers.

I've found that using TDD as part of my process, when I specify the tests and then tell the AI to get them to pass, works pretty well. However, I was just reading an interesting post from Birgitta Böckeler at Thoughtworks about using TDD inside (!) the agent loop [https://t.ly/U0KfM].

Why I use Svelte for all my apps.
• small bundles
• no dom manipulation
• feature parity with react / vue
• good ecosytem

Now Thoughtworks recommends it.

I tried to make sense of "spec-driven development" by looking at 3 tools: Amazon's Kiro, GitHub's spec-kit, and the Tessl Framework

Hot off the presses ... the new Thoughtworks Technology Radar came out yesterday. They talk about observability 2.0 (their judgment: "ASSESS") around the 52:30 mark. A pithy, sensible summary of the state of the art.
