went to a rummage sale and actually had to break thrifters code since it was a school fundraiser and tell the lady running it she was absolutely not to sell that vita-mix for $5 which is what she offered it to me for

-> Prices are too high to afford
-> Reason is cus if they price items low/at bargains, thrifters and resellers will buy to turn a profit and deprive people in poverty with need
-> Resellers complaining about high prices

thrifters/textile girlies, it's our time!!!!
a thing i think about a lot as a sort of soft barrier to quality clothes in the us is that unless you're rich we've basically lost any reference point for that quality — sometimes even if you are rich! we don't know how it looks or feels in our hands anymore
