They kept building those tanks, too, long after Commodore, Atari, TI and Radio Shack decontented the hell out of theirs (the PET->VIC dropoff was drastic, as was the 800->800XL, and the plastic-fantastic TI99 was so sad...)

If they decontented in the //c, it doesn't show.

Parsec (1982) may have been the first video game I ever played. While my brothers enjoyed their new cool Nintendo Entertainment System, I was let loose on their less cool TI99/4a gathering dust in the corner.

Bomb targets, shoot obstacles, and refuel at depots in this very cool little shmup.

Quanta musica. 😍

"Computer Chronicles" debuted on KCSM in 1981 as a local program hosted by Jim Warren and broadcast live on Thursday nights. There's only one known full recording of this season, an October 1981 program on TI Logo for the TI-99/4A.

My first was a Texas Instruments TI99-4A, which for 1983 was actually a fairly advanced computer. Had a speech synthesizer module and everything. My sister and I spent most of our time making it say the filthiest things we could think of.

With a glitchy tape recorder to load the software. Lasted a lot longer than I thought it would.

I feel like this makes me look older than I am. We were a very computer-forward extended family and I played on this regularly from about age 5.
