They are 12' deep for reference. I weeded the area and put down about 1-2 bags of topsoil to get them level. Should I put a thin layer of cardboard on the bottom to discourage weeds? If so, should I cut that cardboard up into a certain size, or keep the pieces as large as possible?Planning to plant herbs, lettuces, kales and a few seed packets of lettuces, peas, maybe carrots.1st garden of this type and size, wish me luck! My butterfly bush was doing really well up until about 2 weeks ago when it started to really thin out. It's had some leaves that look diseased for a while, though.
